We ran out of roses

We ran out of roses

By Ajay Ohri

we ran out of roses
we ran out of roses

we spent them all
on weddings and funerals
roses big and small

we ran out of wine
we drank it all down
we cried and laughed
we smiled and frowned

we ran out of excuses
to living life small
so we decided to stand up straight and walk
and we stopped to crawl
