Sheldon Santos is a fashion, celebrity and advertising photographer born and brought up in Mumbai. A popular name in the photography industry, Sheldon is soon becoming the go-to photographer for many successful actors. We learn more about him in this interview.
How did the passion for photography develop in you?
A: At 18, when I was simultaneously graduating from college, I found myself intrigued by the phenomenon of capturing a real moment into a picture. This made the field of photography very alluring. So I began pursuing my passion by working with Rohan Shrestha, who played a significant role by mentoring and helping me unriddle my way into becoming a professional.
Tell us behind the scenes work that goes on before a successful photo shoot.
A: There’s a lot of pre-planning & team effort- creating a mood board, figuring out your lighting for the shot.
It’s important that the whole team which includes the photographer, stylist, art director, hair and makeup artists and the client are in sync in order to create a successful shoot. Narrowing down a mood board and planning my lighting set up is homework and mandatory steps taken prior to the shooting day………
