Sharib Hashmi features on the cover of LitGleam magazine
Sharib Hashmiactor, director, writer and producer who kickstarted his career with the Oscar winning movie Slumdog Millionaire and the National award winning movie Filmistaan and is now in flying colors with his role in The Family Man. It was a very exciting moment when he agreed to an exclusive interview with team LitGleam.
Mr. Hashmi was very enthusiastic with his answers and what followed was a great conversation. The interview moved forward with his reaction on how well his Amazon prime series, The Family Man was doing and the amount and intensity of the responses he’s got. When he talks about how he had expected his audience to react, it is very obvious that whatever it is, a movie or a show the audience or rather the consumers play a huge role in the success of it.
The interview then transitioned into his experiences in working with Manoj Bajpai, Shah Rukh Khan, Yash and then to Danny Boyle who Mr. Hashmi has worked with during the making of the famed Slumdog Millionaire. His adoration and respect for Danny Boyle has no limits as he narrates about the incidents in which Danny Boyle had always encouraged Mr. Hashmi and assured him that he was doing great.
His relationship with his work has not been a soft road. There were of course days when he was crestfallen but the shows that he had written, the shows that he had starred in and his friends and co-stars had always found in him that spark he needed. The best part about the interview is that he has worked with many Bollywood figures and adores them all, the instances he shares with us shows us that he knows his way around the challenging film industry. He also talks quite briefly about the controversy regarding nepotism.
The interview also revolved around the kind of roles he liked to take up and whether he was choosy and also some fun questions on whether he liked to write or act and his answers added spice to the entire conversation. We see him talking about how much the OTT platform has transformed the way we experience entertainment. Mr. Hashmi is someone you really need to look into for answers, he has been through crests and troughs and has spent a majority of his life in the Bollywood world, doesn’t this make him our ideal go to?
